Emily was determined to get her dom back. However, you could feel Sterling's doubt even though not from his POV. He pushed her hard to make sure she was ready to truly submit to him. Very spicy short that went into more moderate forms of BDSM rather than just the light stuff.

I enjoyed this short in the LHNB event. It had a sort of cinderfella vibe to it with Trev not knowing what Shane had been doing to help him. The emotions expressed by the MCs and the reason for the separation felt very real life.

I also enjoyed the racial diversity - too few and far between.

It took longer than I wanted for these two MCs to finally start getting some loving going but I still enjoyed this 2nd story in this series. I loved Pippa. She's smart and not afraid to ask questions or go outside her comfort zone. The banter was witty and had enough innuendos in it to make me smile. Cross was a frustrating MC. He was beating himself up and refusing to let himself get anywhere near Pippa for over half of the book - drove me crazy!

I LOVED that it was Pippa's brains that saved the day and her man - loved it. It was also nice to see that Castleton was more than he appeared - and just might get his own deserving HEA.

Given Pippa was Bourne's sister in law, I had hoped to get a little more interaction between Cross and Bourne - even if Bourne didn't understand the reasons why. We saw a lot of Temple (his book is next) which was good and some of Chase but it seemed like there was some missed opportunities in not having Cross and Bourne in some scenes. Chase was his interfering self in this one like the last book in seeing what his partners refused to see in the women who were right for them. Really looking forward to Temple's book. There was some hints in this one about his past as well as some characters from it. I'm looking forward to a duke story :)

I read this after the warnings had been properly updated. By the author message, this was meant to unsettle and it did for this reader. This is not safe, sane, consensual bdsm and it was not written to be.

It was evident how much the MCs had drifted apart and I could feel Rob's frustration. This was clearly a deep total power exchange relationship that had lost its way when the dom, Rob, lost his job. He no longer felt in control. Eli needed him to retake that control. The last scene was Rob's heavy handed way of getting that control back. He needed total ownership of Eli again and he went further than many of us who read bdsm was comfortable in their going.

Did I like Rob disregarding Eli's slow down word? Absolutely not. Do I know the history of their previous TPE? No, I do not know that either and that could affect things. Did I like the wasps? Absolutely freaking no. But, it added the dark edge Rob wanted in his possession. Could Eli have just gotten a tattoo instead of a homemade one? Yes, but again this was that dark edge the couple apparently needed in Eli's surrender and Rob's ownership of him in their dom/sub relationship.

I initially thought Eli was the dom but he was apparently pushing his dom for a reaction. Nice turn of the tables.

I liked this unique take because I had the mind set going in with the warning. Be sure to read the warnings on this one because not for all readers.

Very hot photos in this LHNB prompt. This is a short of a single bdsm scene between the MCs and it was deliciously intense. Want more!

And...seriously, can I have the growly dom bear in the bottom photo? Yummy! Put under spoiler because has slight nudity.

Very realistic vibe to this LHNB short. Tough choices and real life problems in this emotional little short.

I think this might be an earlier work. Drug on quite a bit and frustrated me. I loved Zach and Holly needed to stop being so wishy washy.

This anthology didn't end up being as dark as I thought (which was good for me). I sometimes venture into the naughty kinky stuff which is what this collection of shorts is (mostly). Danny did a nice review on his preferences in this collection. I tended to enjoy the porny ones that come across as more consensual or dub con than the abusive or violent ones that felt non con. Heed the warnings and know that there is nothing here I would support in reality! Here’s my thoughts on the stories.

Frat-napped by Logan Zachary
Kinky kidnap read that was porny fun – nothing too heavy. I was a little creeped out at the brother’s involvement, though. And, who drinks beer from an ass enema???? So glad I never had to join a frat :). 3 stars.

Taking Brian by Shane Alison
This one really didn’t work for me. Guy decides to chloroform and kidnap a college student he’s been wanting. 1 star.

Bloodless Coup by Mark Apoapsis
Another that didn’t really work for me. A revolution occurs where a prince is captured and on a yearly basis he has to pay an “anal” price. 1 star.

This was a creepy kind of children of the corn feel to it. They kidnap a young man and “milk” him to help expand their gene pool. One of the guys assigned to “assist” him helps him flee and goes with him. This was another bit of porny fun that isn’t too heavy. 3.5 stars.

The Diplomat’s Son by Hanks Edwards
The son of a diplomat is kidnapped and enjoys having sex with his captors. 3 stars.

Shank’s Lesson by Rick Polney
Shank is an abusive asshole. This one didn’t work for me. 1 star.

Hudson Woods by K. Appelby
This one had a sci fi vibe to it with a kidnapping and lots of sex. Wasn’t super heavy. 2.5 stars.

Passport to Freedom by Lew Bull
Four journalists are kidnapped and the American takes it upon himself to figure out a way to free them by volunteering to have sex with his captors. Another that was not too heavy because the guy was clearly enjoying it. 3 stars.

The After Workout by Milton Stern
A well endowed male is kidnapped after a workout by twins who are also well endowed that he had been admiring. Very short with some waterworks (which captee enjoys along with the sex). 2 stars.

Intervention by O.H. Fowler
A former doctor encounters a prostitute at a sex party and decides to kidnap him and help him get off drugs. Consensual to dub con in this one with a little bdsm scene. I wasn’t quite sure what the doctor had been accused of which made him leave the profession and wasn’t sure if the accusations were false. There were some hints that were confusing. Another flashback scene seems to have the doctor stepping in to help a teen which is why I was left confused and a bit uncomfortable about the accusations being real. 3 stars – I liked the overall story and scenes between the MCS but probably would have been 4 if I could have felt more comfortable with the doctor’s past (it weighed on me because I could not have enjoyed this and it would have changed my feelings throughout the story had I known for certain the doctor did what he was accused of).

The K9 Project by Christopher Pierce
A heavier feeling of human pet training than [b:Dean's Pup Training|18220362|Dean's Pup Training|Steve B|/assets/nocover/60x80.png|25651829]. I must admit to enjoying this one although it is nothing I would support in reality! A guy in his 20s is kidnapped and turned into a “K9” for sex with intention to be sold later. Heavy medical play feel to it. Twisted form of Stockholm Syndrome. 3.5 stars.

Stolen by Wade Johnson
A male wakes up to hear a thief in his home. He ends up being kidnapped by the thief and sex later occurs which could be dub con. He dreams of his kidnapper. 2 stars.

Calvin Rose by John Caruso
Calvin wakes up kidnapped and doesn’t remember everything about how he got where he was. He is able to turn the tables on his captor. This short had the darkest feel to it of all the shorts and had a really intriguing twist to it that I won’t give away. Some waterworks in this one and the feel is noncon. 2 stars.

This was slow to get started but once the couple really started interacting then it was a really nice historical love story.

Sigh...what can I say. Wonderful. This expansion of the original free short was wonderful. I loved Gunny's fretting and how Mac knows him so well. The family stories were a wonderful addition - even though troubling in places for our guys. However, they didn't overwhelm the story because these were 40+ year olds and more mature in handling what life could hand them without taking them over.

Oh, how I loved the bar scene and the couple "babys" we got. Yum. Yeah, the bar drinking didn't end well but I loved a playful Mac while it was happening and left feeling hope that they can do it again without fear of a fight. And Mac admitting the secret about Private Carter - could I love him more? Mac's speech was beautiful and I was so happy that Gunny wanted Mac to not have to hide what they were to each other. He wants Mac to show him off - I'm hoping he gets that with a growly possessive Mac :). I love these 40+ year old military guys starting a new life together.

The placements of some d/s was wonderful but didn't overwhelm the story that needed to be told. Mac's present to Gunny gave hope for some wonderful adventures - maybe a weekend getaway that includes a visit at Ty and Blake's bar? I so appreciate this author doing this full length story. I was touched by her dedication to me for doing the original short story prompt but she made these characters come alive and gave us their incredible story. The credit is all hers. Standing applause.

Leo is one of my favorite Kleypas heroes. Cat gave him as good as she got. Loved the bickering of these two as it was clear that there was sexual attraction. They were made for each other. Was good to see Henry and Poppy again and Dodger was adorable.

Loved these MCs! The "villianous" Henry and the smart and loving Poppy. I enjoyed watching Henry have to evolve.

Loved Lily and all her plans for dealing with Alex :) Wish she wouldn't have kept her secret so long but glad they got their HEA.
